All About ME

Hi, I'm Dani G. Welcome to my little blog! My blog description pretty much sums me up: A sassy mother warrior from Los Angeles raising a sweet little girl with Autism in the Midwest.

Yes, this is me.

I may or may not be 35 years old. I'm a California girl who's been living in Michigan for 10+ years. People ask me ALL the time: Why are you living here?? Well, I was married to a guy who also grew up in LA and then got a job out here... before the economy disappeared. But I love it here. People are generally nice and I'm tough enough to handle the ones that aren't.

I started this blog to show my friends and family back home in California what our life is like here in the midwest (Look everyone: snow!), but it took on a life of its own with the whole special needs niche. I've made amazing friends through this blogging adventure and I am grateful for them all.

FAQs:

-Why do you call your daughter Little Bird?
My mom has called me birdie since the day I was born. It was only natural that I call my own girl bird. Plus, she seems so delicate, like a little bird!

-Why don't you use your daughter's real name?
Look, I need a little teeny, tiny piece of anonymity here, ok? Plus, someday she might grow up to read and understand this stuff and what if she freaks out on me and goes, "Mom! WTF?!! You blogged all the time about my poop!!" I guess I'm avoiding a huge fight later on. We'll just fight about something else. For now I'll stick to our daily fight about brushing her hair.

-What is DGGOTB??
DGG is my initials. OTB stands for One Tough Bitch, which is another good description for me.

Anything else you wanna know??

I found you on SITS! I had to comment because I am a California girl living in Michigan too! I have lived here for 10+ years. I moved here with my mom and then in high school I met a boy that I eventually married. For now I am stuck here but someday I may get the opportunity to move again.
