Special Needs Blog Hop: A funny memory

Today's topic in the Special Needs Blog Hop is a funny memory of your child.

When Little Bird was a baby, I remember when other babies would grab toys from her and she wouldn't seem to care, because she wasn't grabbing them back and smacking those other babies over the head with the toys (well, that's what I would have done). At the time I thought it was so nice that she was so peaceful and could see that it's just a stupid toy. Of course, later I came to understand that behavior was somewhat suspicious! I remember when Little Bird first started really asserting herself and making her wants known. We still laugh as we look back at this video from a couple years ago. We were on a plane and got her a $30 pack of pringles. She decided they were ALL for her....

HA...I always patted myself on the back for what a GREAT kid Katie was b/c she NEVER stole a toy from another kid or hit or bit or any of that...yeeeaaah.

And, hey, kids don't share food!

A woman after my own heart. I will stab you with my plastic cutlery if you try to snatch a $5 chip from me. She is so cute.

She really is adorable. I can't say I blame her. I mean, they're Pringles! Who wants to share those?

That was really cute! I can't blame her either; those are good chips.

I love when there's video to go with these stories!!!

I remember the first time Jake took something away from another girl who was about 2 and he was about 6. Then he hit her over the head with it. I was so proud.

The video is great. I remember the first time my son did something like that. We were out at a restaurant and he refused to share his fries with his sister. He insisted that we order her some fries. He was not going to share.

She knows what's important! I think LB & I would get along very well :)

Nooooo, the video clip won't play for me!! My son is like that too, he never grabs back, he just sits there and cries or complains! Jen (visiting from SN bloghop)

Ummm... They're PRINGLES. I'd have gauged your eyes out for trying to steal them.

Oh. I see that Lynn agrees.

I need to read comments before I write my own.

that's a funny video! My son was the same way. I'd always be like, wow, he's the BEST "sharer" of all the kids.... but anyway, he's definitely more assertive now!

Kai hates to share too! he thinks anything and everythiing is his and all his. Touch it and you will meet the hulk! he will ATTACK! *L*

Oh yeah, I remember thinking what a good job I was doing because she didn't tantrum when somebody took something from her. Sigh.
Totally don't blame her on the Pringles though- get your own!

Well, first you make her fly somewhere and then want her to share? No, I can see that that's not happening.

Cute video. My kids love Pringles. My autistic son thinks the whole container is his most of the time. My son was really gentle with toys too. Especially dolls. Even though it was a toy and most kids would pound the heck out of it. Thanks for joining in the Special Needs Blog Hop.
